You might consider secondary glazing measures in this case. As a solution, couldn’t a home or property owner install secondary or triple-glazed windows? While certainly an option, the sheer cost of such a measure would be outside of what most can afford.
Not to mention the disruption of having to have all of the windows of a home removed. Work that could take several days or more to complete. An upsetting invasion of privacy and disruption to your home life. A serious disruption to business in the office.
Instead, there is the option of a secondary glazing measure such as a set of blinds. Providing an additional protective layer to your windows. Reducing the overall energy lost through them for much less.
The Different Forms
Of course, not every form of blind is equal. Your average window blind blocks almost no thermal energy loss. Due to the gaps and material of the blind.
One of the most effective additional barriers tends to be the solid roller blind. With one main strip unfurling from the top of the window. When lowered the blind can reduce the thermal energy lost be a significant amount.
